Portuguese nostalgia

Portugese heimweeThis beautiful illustration was made by the Portuguese illustrator Fatinha Ramos. Not only can you find it on page 21 of Dutch Flow #3, you can also find it in our Download Cabinet. You can print it out, or use it as a screen saver or wallpaper on your computer, to name a few possibilities. Fatinha, who is Portuguese but lives in Belgium, says: “This illustration is about saudade, the only Portuguese word, I think, that cannot be translated with true justice. It’s a sense—moreover even a kind of pain—of missing something so much you feel empty inside because of it; a void that can only be filled with beautiful memories.”
