MAGAZINE The best things happen when you dare to follow your heart. And that’s exactly what we did when we hatched this idea for a new Dutch magazine in an attic room several years ago. We dreamed of a magazine with which we could explore our love of paper. A magazine of unhurried time, all about doing things differently and making new choices. Small happiness, daily life and the beauty of not always managing to be perfect. That is how Flow began. Flow is all about positive psychology, mindfulness, creativity and the beauty of imperfection. We love illustrations and in each issue there is a gift made of our much-loved paper. We print the magazine itself on different types of paper.
The world has changed over the past year and, more than ever before, we’ve had to apply the life lessons we have been writing about to our own situation. We did it all: accepting that things are what they are, living in the now, embracing what there is, getting out of our comfort zone, moving with the tide. And in 2020, we had to do what we find the most difficult thing of all: letting go. Because it has become clear that producing the English edition of Flow and distributing it worldwide is no longer achievable. Read more about it here.
SPECIALS We have also produced Flow Specials, about DIY, for example, or about mindfulness or paper. Every year we design a diary and a block calendar.
FLOW INTERNATIONAL Very soon we started receiving responses to Flow from abroad too. And we decided to send our little magazine out into the big wide world. We are now very much enjoying making four international English editions per year, which are selling in twenty countries all over the world. You can order single issues here. In 2013 a German Flow also started appearing under license at G+J Germany. And in 2015 a French Flow started appearing under license at Prisma Media.
ONLINE Although the paper issue will no longer be there, we will continue sharing articles and ideas about how to live your life in this world full of changes on flowmagazine.com, on Facebook (@TheWorldofFlow) and on Instagram (@flow_magazine).
