Van Gogh is everywhere

Vincent van Gogh’s works of art are admired worldwide. But this year, his work is really thrown into the spotlight and you won’t be able to miss it. 2015 marks the 125th anniversary of Van Gogh’s death – on July 29 to be precise – and therefore several museums are organizing special exhibitions to celebrate the Dutch master’s legacy and to draw attention to the 125 Years of Inspiration. If you’re visiting the Netherlands and you wish to see more of his works, here are a few of the places you can go:

* Apr 18 – May 17, 2015: From Goltzius to Van Gogh Drawings & Paintings from the P. and N. de Boer Foundation, Kunsthandel P. de Boer, Herengracht 512, Amsterdam.
* Apr 25 – Sep 25, 2015: Van Gogh & Co.: Journey through the collection of the Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo
* May 19, 2015 – Jan 17, 2016: When I Give, I Give Myself: 22 artists respond to the letters of Van Gogh. Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam
* Jun 1 – Jul 6, 2015: Arnhem Fashion Festival, various locations
* Jul 9 – 12: Street painting inspired by Van Gogh, Arnhem
* Sep 25, 2015 – Jan 17, 2016: Munch: Van Gogh, Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam
* Oct 3, 2015 – Jan 10, 2016 Where is Van Gogh? Het Noordbrabantsmuseum, Den Bosch

There are also events and exibitions about Van Gogh’s work being held in Mons, Paris, Arles and other European cities. You can find all the information about this Van Gogh year – and more – at vangogheurope.eu or in this special (Dutch) magazine
