The morels featured in the nature tidbit of Flow Weekly 15—about the pleasure of good cooking—were drawn by Kim Welling. Currently, the illustrator is also working on an alphabet for The Machinery, her boyfriend’s new laser-cutting company. See how it all works in the video below.

“I’m an illustrator living and working in a small town just outside of Amsterdam,” says Kim. “With the alphabet I’m creating, each letter features a different animal design, and is cut out with the laser cutter. The design can be made from paper, wood, cardboard or plastic. These letters will eventually be available via The Machinery‘s web shop. It’s quite a complicated little project, but I think it’s really fun and exciting to see my drawings applied in a different way. You can also see the sketches of the letters on my blog.”
